Ringing in the New Year

Hello all,

Today is the first day of an epic quest in my life. I'm glad that you are joining me for this and hope that this inspires even one of you to try the same. Let me give you a little background on why I've started this blog...

I've been overweight pretty much my whole life. I'm 30 years old now. I'm sick and tired of feeling this way, being overweight and out not only of shape, but health too. About a year ago my wife started getting into organic foods and total body health and took me on her ride with her. We started eating healthy, organic foods and cut out a lot of different foods and things that were causing us to feel and look the way we were. My wife started this because of her depression. I started it because of her. Now, I'm doing it for me. That's the only way that it will work - You've got to want it for yourself. My reasons are starting to get selfish. I want to look better, wear nicer clothes and be sexy again. ;)

So I'm starting this quest of mine, a goal to lose 200 pounds this year! Today is not a Monday, you don't have to start on a Monday to be successful - today is Saturday January 13, 2007. I'm starting by going through a cleanse of the kidney and adrenals that will last the next three weeks. From there, I'll be working on a better quality of life and weight through better eating and more exercise. So why 200 pounds? How much am I starting with? As of today I weight 394 pounds. I'm 6'4" tall. I wear a size 56 waist and usually a 3 or 4 x shirt.

This blog will track my progress on a daily basis. I'll offer my feelings, my struggles, my accomplishments and even some products that I use and where you can get them. I've learned a lot about the body and weight loss over the past year. My wife is writing an eBook about it as well so I'm going to be our guinea pig and see how quickly I can reach my weight loss goal. But please remember, the main reason is my health first, then the weight lose. I've learned that you cannot lose weight until your body and organs are healthy. Everyone tells you to lose weight to get healthy - well, they're wrong. Your body needs to be healthy and functioning properly for it to be able to shed those extra pounds of fat and water. So this will be my journal or testimonial, if you will, to the world of how to lose weight the right way. I hope that you enjoy it and would love to hear about your success and feedback as well. Enjoy!
